About Mary Justino

Mary Justino grew up in Clay County and is a proud graduate of Middleburg High School and of the University of Florida’s College of Journalism & Communications. Following eight years as a producer and assignment manager with First Coast News in Jacksonville, she served for seventeen (17) years as the media spokesperson for the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. In that role, Mary communicated important information to the public during times of crisis. She was named Public Information Officer of the Year for the State of Florida in 2010. Mary also worked as a consultant for the Florida Department of Transportation, communicating information to the public regarding road projects in Northeast Florida, including the First Coast Expressway.

She is excited to now be back in Clay County representing Clay County’s Clerk of Court and Comptroller Tara Green, as her Public Information Officer (PIO) headquartered at the Clay County Courthouse. As PIO, Mary works to expand the community’s understanding of the role Clerk’s Office personnel play in protecting official records, managing millions in county funds, operating our local court system, preserving our county’s history, and assisting public safety officials in their important community roles. Mary and her husband Rob have two adult sons, Dan and Joe, and donate their time regularly to their church and to charitable efforts in Clay County.
